Style
Different cinematography is used in superhero films to engage the audience. Certain camera movements like pan and track are used to draw the audience in to diegesis. Editing also does this. If the editing is smooth and sleek - continuity editing - plausibility is created and allows the audience to believe it's realistic. They do this to try to allow the audience to escape from everyday problems and routine - the is the Uses and Gratifications theory - and create a diversion from this. Superhero films now, have changed from what they used to be like back at the beginning. You can see this in the costume the superheroes used to wear. For example in the Wolverine comics, Wolverine had a very bright yellow and blue suit, but now, in the X-Men films, he only wears a white vest and jeans. This is because it wouldn't created verisimilitude for the audience. It wouldn't be very realistic for this guy to be walking around in a yellow suit now, would it?
Typically Hollywood
Hollywood attempt at drawing in audiences by engrossing them into the film world.
Comic Book vs Film
Sound - You don't get sound in books apart from onomatopoeia. Sound is more subtle in films
Colour - Vivid colours in comic books. It's darker in films
Storytelling - Narrative in the books. This is something films don't have
Verisimilitude
The appearance of reality - plausibility.

Diegesis
The film world. The world created by the film makers and lived in by the characters.
Uses and Gratifications Theory
There have been many theories developed to try and understand how and why audiences use media content. One theory that could be useful is Uses and Gratifications. This suggests that audiences make active choices in order to fulfill the following:
Diversion - Escape from everyday problems and routine.
Personal Relationships - Using the media for emotional and other interaction.
Personal Identify - Finding yourself reflected in texts, learning behavior and values from texts.
Surveillance - Information which could be useful for living. E.G. - Weather reports, Financial news, Holiday bargains
